Call Your Primary Care Physician First For These Kinds Of Health Problems


(The following health problems DO NOT require a trip to the ER)

  • Earache
  • Muscle aches
  • Cold, flu or sore throat
  • Removal of wound stitches
  • Genital pain or vaginal pain
  • Skin Problems, rashes or mouth sores
  • Lower back pain
  • Prolonged pain for over a month

If you are unsure about whether to go to the ER, call your doctor first at any time. If you are unable to get a same-day appointment with your Primary Care Physician and have a persistent illness or injury with symptoms that don not require an ER visit but need symptom resolution, please contact your contracted urgent care clinic.

Your doctor expects you to call when there is a problem, even if it is at night or on the weekend. Your doctor has made plans to receive calls outside of normal hours. Make sure to ask your doctor what number to call when you have a problem and the office is not open.
